After failing to finalize anything with Floyd Mayweather team, The Filipino legend boxer has said a Fight Against Adrien Broner is almost certain this January. Manny Pacquiao, who turned 40 this year, found new life when he delivered a superb knockout against the Argentine Lucas Matthysse. His last knockout was 9 years back. And boy oh boy, even after 9 years, it feels so damn good.
As Pacquiao has clearly diminished all the possibility of retirement, some very unclear reports have surfaced regarding all the possible candidates. But, we believe, Adrien Broner is at the top of his list as he couldn’t land Mayweather yet.
He himself has made Broner as his first choice in a charity event last October. When asked about his first choice, he replied – “Broner. Adrien Broner”
He also gave a hint or two regarding the exact date and venue. When asked, he said – “Probably in Las Vegas”. As of now, the exact date of the event is still unclear (January 19th as per updated information). But speculation says it’s either 12th or 19th of January.
Floyd Mayweather has expressed his gratitude towards Pacquiao and said He’d love to come out of retirement just to fight another match against Pacquiao. If this happens, this will be a rematch of 2015 superfight.
Floyd also mentioned nothing is confirmed yet. However, we feel like Pacquiao V Mayweather is definitely on for next year. Fingers crossed.
When asked about his knockout against the Argentine, Pacquiao mentioned how he considered himself as the underdog. Now he’s very pumped up about boxing again.
